Jason Maguire - Jockey
Originally from County Meath, Ireland, Jason started his racing career in Irish pony races. In 1999, aged 19, he rode his first winner aboard Search for Peace at Cheltenham Racecourse. He spent the next seven years riding for Tom George’s yard with numerous wins including a noticeable Cheltenham Festival success with Galileo in the 2002 Novices’ Hurdle. In 2007, Jason became stable jockey to Donald McCain, son of the legendary Ginger McCain, and has gone from strength to strength. He rode 100 winners in a season for the first time in 2009/2010 and in 2011 cemented his place in racing history by riding Ballabriggs to victory in the John Smith’s Grand National.
